Ministry and Vision
My goal is to love God
through serving the missions community in Kandern and beyond
by teaching and shaping the lives of my students all for the glory of God.

I am serving with TeachBeyond and working at Black Forest Academy and came to Germany in August 2014. The majority of the students at BFA are children of missionaries. Many of these missionaries are serving in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East. I am working as the Resource Supervisor. In this position, I work with students with learning disabilities in order to support their education as well as overseeing the Resource program at the elementary, middle and high schools. I also have the opportunity to serve the students outside of the classroom, in chaperoning school trips, volunteering in the dorms, and mentoring individual students. I am excited to be serving in this roll of supporting missionaries families and to be a link between my ministry partners and these families on the mission field.
My passion for serving these students has grown out of my own background. As a small child, I became interested in missions through the stories of missionaries that my dad would read aloud to our family. As I grew up, there were also other adults along side my parents who helped to shape my life and faith. The mentors that have poured into me have helped develop this passion for Christ. I long to serve and mentor other young people while on the mission field.

Testimony
Grace & Faithfulness
Without God's grace and salvation through Jesus Christ, I would be nowhere. Honestly I feel my testimony began before I was born as God worked in the lives of my parents. My parents both became Christians in college and met through Campus Crusade for Christ (now Cru). Because of these events, I was born into a Christian family. I believed in the truth of Jesus from a young age. I grew in this knowledge through the instruction of my parents, church, and youth leaders. In high school, I narrowed my career interests down to marine biology and missions. I chose to attend Simpson College and pursue a major in missions, although, at the time, the decision was partly motivated by my fear of moving away from home. (But God is still gracious!). I finished college with a degree in cross cultural studies and wasn't sure where to go next. God helped me grow up over the next few years while I worked part-time in my hometown. Then a door opened in 2006 for me to serve at Black Forest Academy as an residence assistance at Leil Dorm.
While serving at BFA, I became more interested in the idea of using teaching in missions but was still unsure whether this was the right path to take. When I moved back to California and started looking for work, the jobs that opened for me were both in education. I used the next two years to explore different possibilities in education such as teaching English as a second language, teaching elementary students, and then I became interested in mild/moderate special education. God opened more doors and I applied to Point Loma Nazarene's dual credential/masters program and made the move to San Diego in 2010. His faithfulness continued to shine through as He provided for my needs. I found a part-time job working as a classroom assistant at Audeo Charter School, and the teacher with whom I worked was also a Christian. When I finished my credential, I began working at Audeo as an Education Specialist. From the time that I made the decision to pursue a teaching credential, my hope has been to return overseas as a teacher supporting missionary families. Now this opportunity has opened for me, and I am stepping through it with faith in God as I work and serve in Germany.

Family
My husband is my best supporters! We happily married in 2020 in the midst of the COVID pandemic. He works for a local company and serves as one of the translators at our international church.
My parents and siblings are also wonderfully supportive of my ministry. I am blessed to be part of such a loving and caring Christian family!
