And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:17
I recently spoke with a mom of one of my former students, and she was happy to give me an update on how well her son is currently doing at university. I had her son as a freshman in my Resource Math class. He is now a junior studying pre-med. His mom said that math is still a struggle for him, and he has to work extra hard in his math and physics classes. However, he is at the top of his class in biology and chemistry, and when he is able to connect meth to chemistry is clicks for him. It was so encouraging to hear how well he is doing and how thankful his mom is for the support he received while at BFA.
USA Trip
We are looking forward to spending almost two months in the U.S. this spring. We will be in the Sedona/Phoenix area, Chula Vista, and Redding. Our plan is to fly in April 11th and be in Sedona before heading to Chula Vista on April 21st. We will be in the San Diego area until May 3rd, then we drive to Sacramento to spend a few days with my sister, Lorelei, before finishing the drive to Redding. We will stay in Redding from May 6th - 21st. Then we will take a few days to head back to Sedona with some fun stops along the way to break up the drive for Alisa. We will stay in Sedona for the final week before flying back to Germany. Currently, everything looks good for Christian to fly out for the whole time, but there still seems to be a small chance he can only come for the second half of our trip. We are praying that God allows him to travel with us the whole time or that God would give us wisdom if it turns out that we need to change his ticket.
BFA Update
After conversations with BFA about returning part-time next year, I was offered and have accepted a role teaching middle school math for one of the current teachers who will be away for his HMA (Home Ministry Assignment). I am looking forward to being back at the school while still having some time at home with Alisa while she is little. I am also talking with another mom, who is considering returning part-time, about exchanging child care so that we can both continue serving at the school. Her son is just three weeks younger than Alisa.
Ukraine Update (trip to Romania)
Christian was able to travel with our pastor, Brian, to Romania with the supplies that our church collected for a church in the Ukraine. He and Brian stayed with the Martins, missionaries there, who formally worked in the Ukraine. David Martin and his son then later drove the supplies to the church in Odessa. They explained that for them and the Ukrainian refugees, one of the greatest challenges is constantly living on a day-to-day basis with no certainty of when they will return to the Ukraine as the war continues.
Please Pray...
Praise the Lord we are doing well as a family and enjoying watching Alisa grow and develop in her first year.
Praise the Lord that we have Alisa's passports.
For Christian's travel to the U.S., as there is a chance that he may only be able to come for part of our time there and we are praying that he can come for the full time.
For our travel to, from, and in the U.S.
For Alisa to continue to increase her stretches of night-time sleep.
For staff for BFA, as they are still looking to fill some key roles for next year.
Blessings,
Becky
