Lord, you are my God;
I will exalt you and praise your name,
for in perfect faithfulness
you have done wonderful things,
things planned long ago.
Isaiah 25:1
Enthusiastic Learners, that is how I would describe the middle school students that I am working with this year. They are such a joy to teach and are working diligently to overcome their challenges. We are finding fun and creative ways to build fluency, improve spelling and grammar, and develop academic writing skills. One fifth grade student started the year being able to write her 12x12 multiplication table in 14 minutes with about 80% correct and can now complete it in 8 minutes with 95% correct! Each time she practices, we celebrate her improvement.
While my middle schoolers are enthusiastic, my seniors are mature(ing). This year I have all six of the seniors in our Resource Program. I have worked with half of them in the past and have watched them grow each year. My hope this year is to help prepare them for what they have planned next, whether college or something else. My goal is to find opportunities to speak with each of them to ensure they clearly understand the gospel and can explain it in their own words. My hope and prayer are that each one will leave BFA as a child of God.
Thank You
I want to heartily thank each one of you who are faithfully supporting me and my ministry through your financial gifts and prayer, especially in our current circumstances. While I am sad to have not been able to come over the summer to connect in person with individuals and churches, I am continually blessed by God's faithfulness and provision as I wait until next summer.
Please Pray...
Praise God for a wonderful start to my marriage
Praise God for being able to start school with students on campus
Praise God that our dorm students were able to enter the country and tested negative for COVID
For developing relationships with students, teachers, and parents
For the middle school students to keep their enthusiasm for learning while overcoming their challenges
For the seniors to have a successful year academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually
For opportunities to ensure each of my seniors personally understand the gospel
For three staff members in our department still working to come to BFA
Blessings,
Becky
