Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Psalm 107:28-31
Then they cried to the LORD in their trouble, and he delivered them from their distress. He made the storm be still, and the waves of the sea were hushed. Then they were glad that the waters were quiet, and he brought them to their desired haven. Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love, for his wondrous works to the children of men!
God has continued to show his faithfulness here at BFA. The Terra Nova testing, while stressful in the planning process, went smoothly and each need was provided for, whether it was an extra room for a small group setting or an extra proctor to read a test aloud to a student. My algebra class also continues to go well. We should be on-track to cover all the needed material before the final exam in a couple of weeks. And I am hopeful that the students will be well-prepared for exam.
My supervisor, the other resource teachers, and I are beginning to look ahead and plan for next year. There are both encouraging developments, as we see the potential for some students to exit the program, and areas of concern, where we must trust God for his provision. One area of concern is that there may be fewer staff in resource next year. I will remain the supervisor of the resource program, work as a resource teacher at the high school, one-on-one or with small groups, and I will teach another section of the Resource Algebra to a group of sophomores. We are hoping to find another one or two people to work along side me at the high school to meet the needs for all the potential students for next year.
Libby and I shared the last video from the bible study, Brave Girl, which we have been going through with our small group of freshmen girls. The topic of the video was on faith and having a relationship with God. Next week we will discuss this video with the girls. I ask them that in preparation for our discussion they consider the following two questions and whether they can answer them: "What is the Gospel?" and "What does it mean to be a Christian?" Please pray for our final two times together as a small group before the end of the year. A few of our girls will be moving over the summer and not returning to BFA next year.
