make known his deeds among the peoples!
1 Chronicles 16:8
In small groups a few weeks ago, I had a great evening talking about dating with my girls. We went through four verses and discussed how each one was applicable to dating (Eph. 6:2, Eph. 5:3, Lk. 10:27, & 1 Cor. 13:4). I had prepared questions to discuss after these but the girls had so much to add to the conversation that we never got to them. They had great questions like, "What is sexual immorality?" and great advise for one another, "If his parents don't approve you also shouldn't be dating." They were all very engaged and we had a great night together.
Side Notes....
I have been attending the Neuenburg International Church now for about a year and in two Sundays I will be joining as an associate member. This is a way of showing my commitment to them as my local church while keeping my membership at Canyon Community Church in San Diego. This church has been a great community and blessing over the past year. I have enjoyed getting to know the pastor and his family, along with the congregation.
I enjoyed roasting a chicken for Thanksgiving Dinner and serving it along side mashed potatoes, quinoa "stuffing" and sweet potatoes. We work on Thanksgiving as it is not a German holiday, but in the evening my friends came over to enjoy the meal with me. While I was the only American among the three of us, we had a lovely meal and a good time together. Now that Thanksgivings is over, I have decorated my apartment for Christmas. I am looking forward to the time off in a few weeks, to rest and enjoy celebrating Christmas before returning to the second semester of school. I will be staying in Germany for the first two weeks of break, and then I have the opportunity to go with a group of teachers from BFA on a tour of Israel in conjuction with Moody Bible Institute's tours. May you all enjoy a wonderful holiday season, and I will send my next update in January.
Please Pray...
For health and recovery from a recent cold
For my small group girls and their continued spiritual growth
For strength to make it through this busy season up to Christmas break
For wisdom and grace in working with each student
For opportunities to have spiritual discussions with my students
