O my God, in you I trust.
Let me not be put to shame,
Let not my enemies exult over me.
Indeed, none who trust in you will be put to shame;
They will be ashamed who are wantonly treacherous.
Make me know your ways, O Lord;
Lead me in your paths.
Psalm 25:1-4 ESV
New Year. Same Semester.
Yep, we at BFA came back to a week of review followed by a week of exams after our break. This can be hard on students and staff, but it has to do with where Christmas falls in our calendar year and the need for enough teaching days in the first semester. And so this week, I will be proctoring a number of exams. First, the one for my resource math class, then a few for students who have specific accommodations and finally some extended time sessions. I will also be writing semester progress reports and preparing for the second semester in between proctoring. I think I will still enjoy the week more than my students though.
BFA and Health
This has been a hard year for more than just me. My supervisor returned to the States over break to seek more medical attention. She is still trying to determine the underline cause of her problems and while we hope and pray that she return quickly, it is hard to know just how long she will need to stay there for proper diagnosis and recovery. The Biology teacher has also returned to the States for medical treatment after being out of school for a few months. She too hopes to be able to return quickly to BFA. In the meantime our Curriculum Coordinator and AP Biology teacher are helping cover her classes on top of their current loads. I spend much of my break trying to get in extra rest, which was helpful, but already in the first week back I was struggling again with fatigue. I am looking into a possible specialist that a friend has recommended. He may be able to give a more specific diagnosis and treatment plan than I am currently on. Please keep all of us in your prayers!
2018 Financial Support Update
God continues to provide the finances as I need them. After reaching out to a group of people and churches at the end of the year, I have received a few one-time gifts, a new monthly support, support from Canyon Community Church and am waiting to hear back from another church about a possible gift. This has helped bring me from 91% monthly support to 94% plus possibly more. Thank you to all for your continued prayers and gifts as these finances are essential to my ministry. They allow me to serve my students and their families on the field.
Would you like to give financially to my ministry to help bring me to 100% monthly support?
